Happy New Year-For Real!

Posted: January 6, 2011 in Uncategorized

It really is going to be a Happy New Year! I have been very diligent in holding up my end of the deal as far as the nutrition goes. Would you believe I even cut out the caffeine since January 1? Cold turkey! And this is a big feat considering I usually sip coffee from the moment I wake until lunch time.

Now, twice a day, I enjoy a Take Charge® shake, which I must say, are absolutely delish! I just wish the temp outside was NC’s more normal 85 degrees. Now don’t get me wrong, I do crave a burger, of course. And, as for the person at work who keeps talking abut the burger with bacon, egg, cheese, lettuce, tomato and mayo…well, that’s a bit much. Sounds like a days worth right there–have the bacon and egg for breakfast, chop up the lettuce, cheese, tomato and mayo for lunch, then the burger at dinner. It’s all good, but keep that to yourself at least for the duration of my ninety-one days.

I had my first fitness assessment yesterday with my personal trainer. I hope he doesn’t get too personal as I’m kinda shy that way 🙂 We talked about aches and pains and weight and other issues then I hopped on the elliptical for 20 minutes. Seemed I could have been on there longer, but I am assuming he knows his stuff. Says he has a Masters in something body/workout related. I’ll take that. He was in pretty good shape so I will not be talking back to him what so ever. If he told me to stay on there for three hours, I may have followed through.

I went to work that afternoon and later went home feeling really great. That evening, I ended up working on stuff in my P-Pile (that’s Procrastinators Pile) until 11:30.

Up again at 5:30am for the NC State of the Arts Conference. I am an artist at heart and love soaking up information and being creative and free and busy. Take away my creativity and you may as well place me in a black room with nothing but walls and darkness.

Anyway, I’ve had a really great day today and hope you have as well. I look forward to working out again this evening and ending my work week with a glorious Friday in downtown Raleigh for First Friday.
