Posters and banners and updates, oh my!

So, the Scrapel Hill Art project is installed over there at University Mall in Chapel Hill. I will be there during 2nd Friday events on May 8 to check on it. I hope the maintenance gentleman is remembering to water it for me and other than that I just need to keep up with my blog. With an average of 40 people visiting per day, I have an obligation not to mention an interest in where this is going. That will be determined as time goes on I guess.

In addition to the blog and looking for real work that delivers a pay check, I volunteer in the community doing what I know best. Promoting the arts through community involvement. I, along with a handful of other professionals, created the Creative Arts Network 4 Community Action (CANCA) in late February of 2009. Since then, we have been running full speed ahead. Our most recent accomplishment is the 2009 Centennial Community Art Project seen here. More than 200 cappeople worked on this painting at various events to create a true rendition of the many colors and cultural backgrounds of our community. The painting will be on display at different businesses throughout the summer and the rest of 2009.

CANCA will be at Meet in the Street in downtown Wake Forest on May 2. We will be located at the Gazebo near the Farmers Market and have information about our fundraising efforts for American Cancer Society, NathanCan Foundation, and Wake Forest Area Artists’ Studio Tour.
