Life is Crap!

Now…I thought that might get your attention!

With a cold front coming in and everything to do other than “spend a million dollars and kiss my prince charming”, all I can really think about is my recent trip to the Florida Keys. It was there that I had to laugh when I spotted the play on words, “Life is Good”. Those three words, “Life is Crap”, were emblazoned on hats, t’s, stickers, etc with the same playful illustration and typeface as the original. I sure hope it is the same company as “Life is Good”, or if not, they are learning to play well with one another. Which brings me to my next point…

Why, when there is someone willing and able to help a community, ready to do some of the work that needs to be done, we tend to find indifference to this very positive act of kindness? So often we find a person willing to volunteer, network, market,  promote and otherwise work themselves silly in the name of other organizations, and all some can do is spit displeasure in their face?

I understand that todays economy and job market may have some people on edge. Well, get over it, and be thankful you have a job. Relax and allow yourself the self confidence needed to do your job better. Cutting down others and “throwing them under the bus”, while it may feel good for the short term, will probably only create a larger wound for later. Worse case, it may run off those who are willing and able to do the work that was previously not getting done.

The other day I was in the local home improvement store with my teenage daughter buying garden supplies. With a cart full of “Moo-nure” we went to the checkouts and she said, “Mom, this stuff stinks”. I laughed, looked at her and later said, “Yes, this shit does stink”.

there isn’t one…but I do feel better now…
